Day 1, Depart
USA Overnight Flight to Madrid.
Day 2, Madrid at Leisure
If you have purchased our Air & Land package you are met at Madrid
Airport and transferred to the Silken Puerta Madrid Hotel. Later join your
Tour Director for a Welcome Meeting.
Day 3, Madrid - Granada Today
we leave Madrid and head south to the town of Toledo. Here we walk through
the ancient cobbled streets to see the Gothic cathedral. We then continue
through the mountains to Granada, former capital of the Moorish Kingdom of
Spain. (Breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 4, Granada - Seville This
morning we are at leisure for further sightseeing, or perhaps join an
optional excursion to the Alhambra Palace and the gardens of the
Generalife, known as the gardens of Paradise? Now a beautiful drive
through gleaming white villages and brilliant fields of golden sunflowers
brings us to Seville, capital of Andalucia and one of the most charming
cities in Spain. This evening, perhaps enjoy dinner followed by a Flamenco
show? (Breakfast)
Day 5, Seville
Sightseeing On our guided sightseeing tour of Seville we see the
Cathedral, burial place of Christopher Columbus and enriched with the
spoils of the New World. We pass the Moorish Giralda Tower and the Santa
Cruz quarter with its flower-decked balconies, before seeing the Alcazar.
Then we see the modern Expo site and a model of the vessel 'Victoria', the
first to circumnavigate the world. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 6, Seville - Lisbon Today
we travel into the greenery of Portugal, and across the amazing modern
Tagus Bridge to arrive in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. (Breakfast)
Day 7, Lisbon Sightseeing
This morning our local guide takes us to the Terreiro do Paco, the
finest square in the City; then we see the impressive modern monument to
the Discoveries and Belem Towe. Now we are at leisure - perhaps shop for
pottery or maybe join a optional excursion to the beautiful town of Sintra
which was the summer residence of the Kings of Portugal? (Breakfast)
Day 8, Lisbon - Salamanca
This morning we head north to visit the Basilica at Fatima,
commemorating the appearance of the Virgin Mary to three children in 1917,
and one of the most important centers for the Roman Catholic faith
worldwide. Then we cross the border back into Spain and continue to the
'Golden City' of Salamanca. (Breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 9, Salamanca - Madrid
This morning our Tour Director shows us the Plaza Mayor and the
ancient Puente Romano bridge across the river Tormes. Then a visit to St
Theresa's Avila, where we view the mighty walls and the fortified
cathedral. This afternoon we return to Madrid where our guided tour shows
us the Royal Palace, Plaza de Espana and Cervantes statue. We continue
past the Cibeles Fountain, Parliament, and cross the Puerta del Sol,
before returning to the Silken Puerta Madrid hotel. Tonight, why not try
one of the local restaurants that line the Plaza Mayor? (Breakfast)
Day 10, Return to USA Our
tour ends this morning, after breakfast, with transfers to Madrid Airport.
