Day 1, Depart
USA Overnight flight to Athens.
Day 2, Athens at leisure You
are met at the airport and transferred to our hotel. Then time to relax or
explore before a Welcome Drink tonight. (Dinner)
Day 3, Athens Sightseeing
This morning Athens offers us glory in abundance, from the Parthenon
and Acropolis to the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Arch. This evening, why
not enjoy a lively night out with dinner and entertainment? (Buffet
Breakfast)
Day 4, Athens - Olympia We
cross the Corinth Canal to the Peloponnese region, then drive to the
ancient ruined city of Mycenae. We walk through the Lion Gate, see the
giant 'Cyclopean' stones used to build the city walls, and visit the
Beehive Tombs. Now a delightful drive takes us through the Arcadia
Mountains to Olympia. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 5, Olympia - Delphi This
morning we tour Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games in 776BC. Then we
cross to the mainland and follow the coast before ascending the Sacred Way
to Delphi, clinging to the side of Mount Parnassus at 2,000 feet. Here we
see the splendid Parian marble Treasury of the Athenians and the Temple of
Apollo, where the Oracle of Delphi breathed her enigmatic 'words'. (Buffet
Breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 6, Delphi - Kalambaka
We cross fertile Thessaly, the 'bread basket of ancient Greece', then
head for the Monasteries of Meteora, incredibly perched on rocky
pinnacles, where we visit one of the monasteries, and then it's not far to
Kalambaka for our overnight stay. (Buffet Breakfast/ Dinner)
Day 7, Kalambaka - Athens
We stop at Thermopylae to see the memorial to Leonidas and his brave
Spartans, then head back to Athens for a three night stay. (Buffet
Breakfast)
Day 8, Athens at Leisure
Today is free to explore this exciting city on our own. Perhaps join an
optional cruise in the Saronic Gulf, visiting the islands of Aegina, Poros
and Hydra?

Day 9, Athens - Cape
Sounion Excursion Today we have included a half day excursion to Cape
Sounion, famous for its Temple of Poseidon and associations with Lord
Byron. Tonight, perhaps visit the Plaka, full of lively entertainment?

Day 10, Cruising -
Mykonos Today we board our cruise ship in time for lunch and sail for
the lovely island of Mykonos with its dazzling sugarcube houses, welcoming
tavernas, and white-washed windmills. (Buffet Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner/
Supper)
Day 11, Cruising -
Kusadasi - Patmos Today we call at Kusadasi, where we can visit the
world famous ruins of ancient Ephesus and perhaps explore the bazaar. Next
we dock at the island of Patmos, where St. John wrote the book of
Revelations in the celebrated Grotto of the Apocalypse. (Breakfast/ Lunch/
Dinner/ Supper)
Day 12, Cruising - Rhodes
We spend a full day on beautiful Rhodes. Explore the Old City or relax on
the golden beaches. (Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner/ Supper)
Day 13, Cruising -
Heraklion - Santorini This morning we sail to Heraklion, sit of the
ruins of King Minos' Palace of Knossos and lair of the legendary Minotaur.
Later, our ship anchors beneath the towering cliffs of Santorini, an
island famous for its cuboid white houses that cling to cliff face above.
Tonight, we get together and enjoy a special farewell dinner.

Day 14, Athens at Leisure
We disembark from our ship after breakfast and are transferred to our
hotel. Later, there is time to shop for those last minute souvenirs.

Day 15, Return to USA
Our memorable tour ends this morning after breakfast with a transfer to
Athens airport. (Buffet Breakfast)
