An extremely interesting
excursion through the countryside of the Chianti area with an
ever-changing scenery of vineyards and olive trees. We visit San
Gimignano, a tiny city that has remained intact through the
centuries. The city is situated on the top of a hill and is famous
for its numerous towers, frescos and other art treasures. On arrival
in Siena we have free time for lunch then a guided visit of this
magnificient medieval city. Admire the Cathedral with the
Piccolomini Library, the Opera Metropolitana Museum, Piazza del
Campo, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe, an the Town
Hall. During the return journey we will see the old medieval village
of Monteriggioni enclosed by its famous walls which are still
intact.
Lunch
is not included. Places of worship will be visited so please dress
appropriately and we recommend that you wear comfortable shoes.
This
