This is perhaps the
most famous natural tourist site in
America and its impact is
awe-inspiring. This massive rend in the
earth can be reached by a variety of
different ways: airplane, helicopter,
railroad, 1901 period steam train from
Williams to the South Rim, or by raft.
There are some hotels in the Canyon but
advanced booking is usually essential.
As the Canyon is far from any city,
those wanting to save time and see it
all can take a ‘flightseeing’ trip
over the Grand Canyon, the Havasupai
Canyon (a remote side canyon of the
Grand), Canyon de Chelly and the
spectacular Monument Valley.
