positioned, nicely set back from the street in the small
coastal village of Plaka with very pretty views of the sea and the island
of Spinalonga. The most welcoming owner lives on the premises and is more
than happy to assist any of her guests. For guests and owners use there is
an outside oven and grill attractively set to one side of the house within
a covered loggia comfortably furnished with garden furniture. The house is
of a simple homely traditional design, enhanced with an attractive little
garden and flowering shrubs. Each apartment (50-55 sqm) is suitable for 3-4 people and comprises of one bedroom with twins or a double bed,
living/dining room with one sofa bed (some also have an extra single bed),
fully equipped kitchenette, and bath or shower/wc. The apartments on the
first floor have a spacious balcony while the apartments on the
ground
floor have a small terrace. Nearly all of the terraces have views of the
sea and the island of Spinalonga. The nearest pebble beach and bus stop
are only 100m away. A restaurant, and general parking can be found just
across the road from the apartments and within walking distance there are
a further six or more little tavernas. A variety of shops, tavernas and
bars can be found in Elounda.

Kalidon
with its delightful and
helpful owners has nine small apartments, built and decorated in the
typical island style, in the pretty village of Plaka, just 50 metres from
the sea. The bus stop is right in front of the house and there are two
shingle beaches about 150 metres away. Little fish tavernas, cafs and
shops are all close by. The apartments are in maisonette style and each is
suitable for 2-3 people. These
apartments are small with an attractive gallery bedroom, with built in
beds, up a half flight of wooden stairs. Downstairs, the living/dining
room has a sofa bed, kitchen or kitchenette, and a shower/wc. All of the
apartments have a balcony or a terrace some of which have views of the sea
and the island of Spinalonga. Bed linen is changed once a week, and towels
twice a week. Kalidon with its
wooden shutters and wrought iron balcony railings, sits tucked behind
little stone walls and bright oleanders on one side of the tiny village
main street.

Studios & Suites
This
little group of cottages is situated in large grounds, just outside of the
village of Pl aka, 4 km from Elounda.
They are built from natural stone and wood, and lie amidst olive, carob
and pine trees on a
gently sloping hillside. They comprise of 17 studios and suites,
tastefully decorated with pretty fabrics and furnishings, and each having
it’s own air-conditioning unit. They all have verandas with sea or garden
view and comprise of the following types:
A: Studio (30 sqm) for 2 people,
with either one double bed or twin beds, kitchenette with simple cooking
facilities, suitable for preparing a simple lunch, and shower/wc.
B: Suites (47 sqm) for 2-4 people,
comprising of one bedroom with twin beds, living room with a sofa bed and
room for an extra bed if needed, kitchenette with simple cooking
facilities, suitable for preparing a simple lunch, and shower/wc.
From
the restaurant and from the large swimming pool, one can enjoy the
breathtaking view over the island. Spinalonga Village is separated from the sea only by the small road
serving Plaka. A sheltered beach can be found just 300m away and a few
local tavernas are located 800m away in Plaka. A wider variety of
tavernas, water sports and other tourist facilities can be found in
Elounda. Spinalonga Village is
an ideal location for those who wish to relax in comfortable, scenic
surroundings.
