Restored House
On the edge
of one of the three pretty beaches at Istro sits this rustic solid stone
house with three apartments. This old thick stone walled house, which once
was a warehouse is surrounded on three sides by the sea. Today, building
is no longer permitted so close to the beach, so a waterfront house l
ike
this is very rare. To the left of the house are two tiny sand and pebble
beaches and further over on the right side, is the long beach, with its
sandy background of trees from which the Stone House takes the name of Karavostassi. The word roughly means the place where the boats anchor. The
village of Istro, which is 1,5 km away can be reached on foot by walking
across the beach and through the olive groves. The house has three
deceptively spacious maisonette apartments brightly decorated in a really
delightful simple Mediterranean cottage style. There is a large stone
terrace in front of the house, with outstanding views of the bay and Karavostassi beach. The terrace is divided into three different areas, for
each of the three apartments, and each is supplied with patio furniture:
A: Open
style maisonette for 2-3 people with a small kitchenette and living room
with a sofa bed, which is located on the ground floor. Above there is an
open sleeping gallery with a double bed and bathroom/WC.
B: Open
style maisonette for 3 people with a small kitchenette, a living room with
a sofa bed and a bathroom/WC. Upstairs there is a sleeping gallery with a
double bed on a slightly raised platform, as well as a single bed on the
lower level.
C: A
maisonette for 4-5 people with a small kitchenette, a living room with a
sofa bed and a bathroom/WC. On the upper level there are two bedrooms,
separated by a wooden wall. One bedroom has two single beds and the other
has a double bed.
This house
is ideal for those seeking a relaxing holiday in natural surroundings and
will provide an unforgettable holiday. A car is recommended.
